BD333 1X2 Betting Explained: Home, Draw, Away
The Short Version
- 1X2 means home win (1), draw (X) or away win (2).
- The draw is a real outcome, so the market has three prices.
- The implied chances add up to more than 100 percent because of margin.
- Check the BD333 sportsbook for the markets actually listed.
If you have looked at football betting, you have seen the numbers 1, X and 2 near each match. This is the 1X2 market, the three-way bet on the result after normal time. It is the simplest and most common market in many sports where a draw is possible. This article explains how to read it, how the prices relate to chances and what to watch for in the rules. BTi was listed as the sports provider in the BD333 lobby on 5 November 2026, and we cannot confirm exactly which matches or markets are offered.
What the numbers mean
The number 1 stands for a home win, X for a draw and 2 for an away win. You pick one of the three. If your pick is correct at the end of normal time, you win. If not, you lose.
Good to know: normal time usually includes injury time but not extra time or penalties. Always check the rules, because knockout games can be settled differently.
Because there are three outcomes, the chance of any single pick being right is usually lower than in a two-way market, which is why prices look bigger. Do not mistake a bigger price for a better bet. It simply reflects the extra uncertainty.
Three prices, one match
Each outcome has its own decimal price. Here is an example with invented numbers.
| Outcome | Example decimal odds | Implied chance |
|---|---|---|
| 1 Home win | 2.20 | About 45 percent |
| X Draw | 3.40 | About 29 percent |
| 2 Away win | 3.30 | About 30 percent |
| Total | About 104 percent |
Why the total exceeds 100 percent
The implied chances in the example add to more than 100 percent. The extra is the bookmaker's margin, a built-in charge. Our bookmaker margin article explains the calculation step by step.
The more outcomes there are, the more places the margin can hide, so compare prices if you can.
Why the draw matters
Beginners often forget the draw. If you back a home win and the match ends level, you lose, even though your team did not lose. Backing the draw is possible but tends to feel unnatural. An alternative is the double chance market, which covers two of the three outcomes at lower prices, if it is offered.
A related idea is the draw no bet market, where your stake is returned if the match ends level. It removes the draw as a risk, but the prices are lower to match. Whether any of these side markets are offered is something to check in the sportsbook rather than assume.
Where 1X2 appears
Football is the classic example, covered on our football betting page. In cricket, only Test matches commonly have a draw, so see test cricket betting for a similar three-way idea. Shorter cricket formats are usually two-way.
In football, the draw is common enough that ignoring it is a mistake. Many matches between evenly balanced teams finish level, and defensive styles make it more likely. The price for the draw usually reflects this, and it can help to read the three prices as a picture of how the bookmaker sees the match, rather than as three separate bets.
Betting with a plan
Read the rules, choose a stake you can lose comfortably and stop when your budget is done. For more on reading prices, see our betting odds guide. No market is a sure thing, and the responsible gaming page lists habits worth building.
One last tip is to write down your stake and the pick before you press confirm. Saying it out loud, or typing it in a note, makes you notice if you are betting more than planned. Little pauses like this are boring, but they protect your budget better than any rule of thumb about the market.
